ABSTRACT A millimeter-wave wideband filtering on-chip antenna is proposed in this paper. Its operation frequency covers 32 GHz to 63 GHz, and the impedance fractional bandwidth reaches 63%. Based on the corner-fed patch antenna, the antenna in this work has a quasi-omnidirectional radiation pattern, and peak efficiency reaches 91.7%. By square slotting on the four sides of the patch and cross slotting on the center of the patch, the high-order mode is suppressed, which supports the wide operating frequency range with filtering characteristics. Split ring resonators are etched on the ground to strengthen filtering characteristics. Based on thin-film integrated passive device (IPD) technology, the proposed structure is applicable to the on-chip wideband and high-efficiency antenna array.
